Starting Solids Soon!

Claire had her 6 month well baby visit at the pediatrician today and everything went great!  We got the "go-ahead" to start her on solids and I am getting so excited!  Six months came waayyyyy faster than I anticipated.  I feel like we just got breastfeeding down, heck, we don't even have a high chair yet!

{insert random picture here just because you haven't seen her in the last few posts!}

After her appointment we stopped off and got the Baby Bullet, along with everything else we need to start feeding her solids!  Kevin saw the Baby Bullet product on TV and tried to convince me that we should get it.  I told him it was silly and I could just use our blender and we didn't need all that extra stuff.  Well...then our doctor went on and on about how much she loves it and how awesome it is, yada, yada, yada...so I looked over at Kevin and his eyes lit up and he was all smiles.  I knew at that moment we would be getting one on the way home!  If you know Kevin, then you know he loves gadgets, in fact; I just may have been known to call him "the gadget guy" every now and then! :)  He will never admit it, but it's true!  (love you babe--you and all your cool gadgets)

I have to say, now I am excited that we did get it!  It came with a great book that explains which foods to introduce when, how much to feed, how to prepare for feedings and all the things a new mama would ever want to know...at least I hope that's everything because I really have no idea about any of this!
I am really excited to make baby food, although I have no idea yet how to do it.  I love to cook and thought it would be fun to give this a try and I'll be honest...I am excited that we should make our money back on the purchase of the Baby Bullet after a short period of time and then save some money in the long run!  That is always a good thing!

I have a few recipes and I have been told that the following website is really good...

If anyone else has any tips or advice about introducing solids, making baby food, storing baby food, and so on...let me know!  I am all ears!

I really wanted to start tomorrow, but Kevin will be doing his continuing education all weekend, so it looks like we'll have to wait till next weekend.  But that is good, so it will give me some time to figure out how to make all this!  I think we'll start with sweet potatoes, yum yum!  I can hardly wait!  Pics are sure to follow, of course you all knew that!  Wish us luck!
