Play Dates & Pound Cakes - A Perfect Pair!

I've decided play dates and pound cakes go very well together, much like milk and cookies or peanut butter and jelly!  The recipe for Chocolate Chip Pound Cake has been making its way around the blogging community and I saw it here again the other day.  Everyone has raved about it so I thought I would give it a try!  What better excuse to bake a pound cake than for a play date!  Don't ya think?

My sweet friend Kate brought over her precious and adorable kiddos Nora and Asher!  They are just too much fun!

Claire loves to visit with her little buddy Asher.  He is such a happy and easy going little guy!

I am reminded time and time again of how much friends are such a blessing to me in this season of life.  It is so good to get together to share support and encouragement.  Our conversations are most often filled with topics that revolve around feeding, pooping (our kids, not us haha), sleeping, sippy cups, napping and so on.  Who knew there would be so much to talk about regarding these issues!   The kids played and played until finally....
...they were all played out and it was time for naps!
But before they left we got to enjoy some of the delicious Chocolate Chip Pound Cake that everyone says is AMAZING!  Well, let me just say that I must agree with them...it is quite divine and super simple too!

All you need is,
1 box of yellow cake
1 (3.9oz) box instant chocolate pudding
4 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup water
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix together all ingredients except chocolate chips.
I just stirred them, but I think I was supposed to use the mixer, oops! It came out great though :)
My dad was here while I was baking it!  Claire had lots of fun watching!  I can't wait until she is old enough to bake with me!  I LOVE baking!!!
Stir in chocolate chips by hand.
Yum, Yum!

Bake in a bundt pan (greased with Pam or baking spray) for 50-60 min at 325 degrees.
Let cool 15 min before removing from pan!  Tastes delicious served warm from the oven with a little vanilla ice cream!
I sure do treasure these days of play dates and pound cakes. They go so fast and yet we've just begun.  If only I could make them last just a little bit longer. Before  I know it Claire will be off to school and I'll look back on these days and wonder where the time went.  I am so very grateful for this chapter of life.  These are the days I have dreamed of--all be it there are challenges and everyday isn't perfect (today included) but I will always remember how special these days are.

Now if only I could find a recipe for a lemon poppyseed poundcake, that sounds so good in this hot weather, doesn't it?!?!
