I have to dedicate this blog post to Claire and her love (or rather fascination, maybe even obsession) for Cinderella. Over the past few months Claire has slowly been falling in love with Cinderella without us even knowing it.
Looking back it must have gone something like this...
Once upon a time she saw a Cinderella carriage at the Arboretum back in October...

Shortly after that she had her first visit to the Disney Store while we were at the mall and she chose this camera...

Lita got her a Cinderella ornament and barbie doll with light up dress in November.
Then she found an old book of mine from childhood and just LOVED looking at all the pictures, without even knowing the story. I happened to snap a photo of her reading this back in December...
Nana and Opa got her the DVD for Christmas, which I thought would be great to have for when she got older since it just came back out of the Disney vault. But as soon as she saw it, there was no need to wait for her to get older to enjoy it. She was absolutely enthralled with the movie when she watched it...literally didn't move for an entire 90 minutes or so and then as soon as it was over she politely asked, "Again, mommy?"
It really took off when Lita and Grandpa visited and she got her own Cinderella gown and matching doll, along with a Lego Cinderella Castle! What more could a little girl want?
We were planning a Milk and Cookies 2nd Birthday Party for her, however all of that fell through when an etsy vendor never fulfilled my order for invitations...so it wasn't a hard choice to move on to Plan B...a Cinderella Party! She couldn't be more excited! I scored BIG time with Disney's "Twice Upon a Year Sale" and found a load of stuff for SUPER CHEAP including all of the mice, the fairy godmother, and much more that can be used for party decorations and then as birthday gifts for Claire!

While at Hobby Lobby I came across a metal Cinderella carriage that was 50% off!! It was a really bright pink so I asked my mom to spray paint it white for me (since I can't spray paint while being pregnant) and she has done a wonderful job working on it and making it just perfect for the party! I could not believe the deals we got! Everything just fell into place so effortlessly...I guess it was meant to be!

While I originally said I would keep her party as simple as cupcakes and gifts...I have just had way tooo much fun planning it!! I love, LOVE, L-O-V-E to plan parties and details and table decorations. Knowing how much Claire is going to love this has made is SOOOO much fun. I can hardly wait to see her at her party in "Cinderella Heaven" and knowing we didn't pay full price for any of it, or even half price for most of it makes it all that much better!!
Last Friday we had one warm day in the midst of a very cold January so Kevin and I took her out to get some photos of her in her Cinderella dress! Those will be coming soon. I am FINALLY getting caught up!! How great is that! I am thrilled to finally be blogging about current events! There is so much going on that I can't wait to share!
