Mother's Day 2013

Mother's Day was low key this year...which was great and just what I wanted.  Clark was only 5 weeks old and I was pretty tired! 

Kevin surprised me with some beautiful tulips, which Claire and I both equally loved.  Every time we ate dinner and the air conditioner would come on the flowers would blow and Claire would say,  "Look mama, the flowers are dancing!"

As soon as he brought the flowers home she ran and got the bumbo and said..."let me sit up there and take a picture!"  

She remembers this picture of my first Mother's Day when she was just a little baby!

Saturday afternoon Claire and Daddy worked on my card...but I had to wait until Mother's Day to open it.  She came running into the office to show it to me and was so proud of the stickers she put it on it! 

That evening we went to dinner with my parents at Maggiano's!  It looks like we got "photo bombed" in this picture if you see the family eating behind us!  haha!

Claire loves this restaurant and always tells us it is so fancy!

On the drive home Claire was happy as a clam!

Clark, however decided it was time to eat...again!!!  We were almost home, thank goodness!

As soon as I got out of bed on Mother's Day morning I was greeted with this bundle of joy who just COULD NOT WAIT to give me my Mother's Day present!

She was so excited she opened the entire gift for me!  It is a necklace with Claire and Clark's names hand stamped on it.  Claire loves this necklace as much as I do and each day she will ask me, "Mama, where is your heart necklace?"  She makes sure I always wear it, even if it's just with my pajamas!

Clark was asleep during the gift exchange, but here is a picture of him later that day.

I am so very thankful for this little family that God has given me.  They are truly amazing and they gave me a fabulous Mother's Day!  I am also beyond thankful for my mom who has dedicated her life to showing me what being a mom really means...and she continues to do so, even now that I am grown and have children of my own.  She continues to put my needs ahead of her own and help me when I need it most.  Kevin and I are both blessed to have such amazing moms.  His mom is always more than eager to help in any way possible, even if it means a drive from Austin to here to help us in any way.  Words can express how much we love them and how grateful we are to them for all the things they do for us.
