Clark at 2 Months

-FYI- Clark will be 3 months old next weekend!  In an effort to keep the blog in chronological order I am behind on posting this because there were so many events/pics that needed to be blogged before it!  This was written on his 2nd month birthday!

Dear Clark,

Happy 2 Months Sweet Boy!

The last few weeks you have really enjoyed your play mat.  You love to lay under it and kick your little legs and you can even use your heels to push yourself all around the mat and even off the edge sometimes.

You have some sweet little cooing sounds that you like to do when you are happy...usually after a feeding when you have a nice, full tummy.

I love to see your big ol' SMILE!  It lights up my day.  You save your biggest smiles for Daddy.

Here are some iPhone pics of your beautiful smile...

You have really found your way even deeper into my heart this month.  You snuggle your head into me and just stare deep into my eyes.  Soooo many times when we are out running errands people will comment about how you are just staring at me with such deep concentration and contentment.  I think you are already a Mama's Boy!!

iPhone pic again...

Aside from when you are hungry or tired, for the most part you are a super happy baby!  You nap in your swing at home or in your car seat on the go.  You don't like napping in your crib yet...you just don't stay asleep in there and end up crying so we stick with what works.  You have been sleeping in this co-sleeper in our bed. Daddy needed more rest so he moved to an air mattress in the office.  You and I have enjoyed the big King sized bed to ourselves, but we miss Daddy too.

According to an app on my phone that I started using May 11-May 31 you nursed a total of 4,583.5 minutes.....oh.....my......gosh.......that was a lot!

Here is a breakdown of that math for ya....

4,583.5 minutes = 76.4 HOURS

76.4 HOURS = 3.2 ENTIRE DAYS SPENT NURSING FROM MAY 11-MAY 31

You nursed 7-9 times a day for a total of anywhere between 215-250 total minutes per day....about 30-40 minutes per feeding most of the month.

I am sooooo happy to say that when you were about 7 weeks old you were able to nurse without the nipple shield more and more frequently and by 8 weeks you were only using it in the middle of the night.  This has made SUCH a HUGE difference.  Now you are nurse for about 20 minutes for each feeding...WOO-HOO!!  Way to go sweet boy!  I am enjoying the extra time to cuddle and play with you and your sister instead of nursing for soooooooooooo long!  It also gives us another 20 mintues to get out and run errands before we have to feed you again.  I can't tell you how happy I am that it is finally getting easier.

We are all just so in love with you.  Claire has named one of her baby dolls after you and is always asking for her "Clarky".  You are just adorable and we can't get enough of you.  Even your sister can't help but take pictures of you with her camera!
