A VERY SUNNY Sunflower Field

Early this morning we piled in the car and headed out to a sunflower field to try to get some photos!  I have been wanting to go and when I checked the forecast and saw that we are starting our marathon of 100 degree temperatures in a couple of days we decided last night that it would be fun to go early in the morning before Kevin goes to work!  I was thrilled to get some good morning light, since the sun sets way after Claire's bedtime these days.  I also expected it to be cool-ish around 7:45 in the morning.  Well...the flowers were GORGEOUS, but it was sooooo stinkin'  HOT and soooooo BRIGHT!  It was like a desert out there without any breeze at all and the sun felt like fireballs beaming onto us!  Claire was soooo HOT within minutes and I was pretty sure we didn't get any shots at all when we drove away, although it was still lots of fun.  We probably stayed about 10 minutes and that was all we could take.  I was thrilled to see that we did get some good shots after all!  It was way too bright for us to look at the camera and I really wanted to get the front of the sunflowers in the pics, so it was quite a challenge, but here is what we came home with!

It looks like she is pushing us away here, awwww :(  Maybe we'll try again if there is an overcast day!  We will definitely want to go back here again next year!  We like to call this kiss the "Claire Sandwich" LOL

Eeek! These are precious. What time did you get out there? We better get out there fast - it's about to be scorching and those poor flowers are going to burn up.
I love all the colors here... that sky is SO blue!
