September 19th is a SPECIAL DAY!

Happy Birthday to my 

Wonderful Dad AND Grandmother!

Yes, that's right, my dad and his mom share the same birthday!

Let's begin with my Dad!  I can't believe you are 57 years old today...

It seems like just yesterday I was a little girl,

You were taking me to the local Noonday Onion Festival!  

For those of you who don't know what that is, Noonday is a little bitty town outside of Tyler, Texas where I grew up and they are famous for growing the world's sweetest, most delicious onions!  Too bad I didn't like onions when I was little...but I did like ice cream!

You were teaching me how to blow bubbles on the cool fall days in east Texas...

I remember how much I used to LOVE helping you mow the lawn on the Snapper riding lawn mower,

And then, in a blink of an eye I was 20 years old and we were having our father daughter dance at my wedding,

Of course, there were a million wonderful memories in between...so many that I could never document them all in a blog!  I love you so much Dad for the father that you are and the man that you are.  My childhood was so rich with wonderful memories of boat rides on Lake Palestine, Sunday morning church drives in your GTO, swinging on my tire swing you hung for me, the morning mom asked you to drive me to school and you took me to Grandy's to get a cinnamon roll instead, (I did get to school, I was just a bit late!) and SO much more!  The list goes on and on.  I love you so much and I thank you so much for all the love you have given to me and mom over the years!  You are the best!  Happy Birthday Daddy!

Now, Happy 80th Birthday to my Grandmother!

What a BIG birthday for you Grandmother!  I treasure our memories of working in your garden together, going shopping together, getting ice-cream at the machine that would not stop and SO much more.  We love you so much and we are thinking about you today!  We hope you have a wonderful 80th Birthday!
