Sights of Summer- Texas Style

Well it seems that the entire country is being swept over with a blanket of unbearable heat.  Of course that's nothing new for us Texans!  We all know that June-August are downright miserable!  

Check out our forecast for the next 10 days...

You know it's summer in Texas when 

everyday for like 502,039,234 days in a row has 3 digit temperatures...

You know it's summer in Texas when 

you water as much as the city will allow you to by law and your lawn looks like this...

You know it's summer in Texas when, 

again you water as much as possible and the roses on your HOT PINK rosebush are completely bleached white by the sun...

You know it's summer in Texas when, 

with all that watering your beautiful oak tree just can not survive the heat and totally dies.  I am soooo sad :(

You know it's summer in Texas when, 

your beautiful flower garden that once looked like this,

now looks like this..these are the dead day lilies...they can't take the heat.

You know it's summer in Texas when 

your front yard goes from this

to this in a matter of weeks...

You know it's summer in Texas when 

the earth is splitting below your feet after it's just been watered that day.

You know it's summer in Texas when 

it's so hot your dog won't even get up to come inside because she is passing out from the 2 minutes she has been outside in the unbearable heat...

You know it's summer in Texas when 

you and all your neighbors keep ALL the blinds shut ALL day to try to keep the heat out and let the A/C work...

I am soooooo done with this heat.  We've been cooped up inside for days, weeks, months....there must be some relief in sight...yet all I see is triple digit temps as far as the weather forecast can go!  I know we won't even begin to really cool off until around October, maybe a few days in September if we're lucky. Oh how I live for those few weeks in April where everything is green, before the heat and after the dead of winter, if only it would last longer!  C'mon Texas summer- give us a break!

We'll be here sweatin' away just hoping and waiting till it gets better!
