First Day on the Job & the "Great Closet Clean Out of 2009!"

I considered our first day back from Austin to be my "first day on the job" as the Office Manager for Kevin's practice! It wasn't really, because obviously his practice isn't open yet, but as the office manager I already have a lot to do!

#1 on the list...
organize, print labels, alphabetize and file all the piles on the doctor's desk!
(I have been dying to do this for months and couldn't wait to tackle this project as soon as I woke up...yes, I know I am weird!)
notice my " work uniform" haha, LOL!
I am loving my new job so far! :)
Next it was time to begin what I am now calling the
"Great Closet Clean out of 2009"
Oh my goodness...let me preface this by saying how EMBARRASSED I am to show you what a disaster our master closet had become. Seriously- I am usually very organized and neat, but somehow our closet seemed to be shrinking and I kept waiting for summer to get here to fix it.
Look at this disaster!!!

We took everything out of the closet (it filled our entire master bathroom, master bedroom and into our living room!) It looked like we had just moved in our house! I CAN NOT believe how much came out of there!
Kevin installed new shelves so we could have floor to ceiling storage because...did I mention that I have to fit all my classroom stuff in here too???

Bindi helped me clean out all my clothes! She was such a sweetheart! She is an amazing dog!

WE DID IT! Here are the AFTER pictures!

FLOOR TO CEILING STORAGE! OUR CEILINGS ARE 11 FEET TALL, SO IT IS A LOT! YAY!

I even found a place to display a few of my most treasured teaching memories that I couldn't bare to not see anymore. The cross on the wall was given to me my first year of teaching and has been in every classroom and I have read it everyday. It says
"When you have faith, you have everything."
It is a wonderful reminder of what life is really about. I am so happy I can still read it everyday. Each displayed item has a special story and/or was handmade by a teacher, parent or student. It makes me smile everytime I look up there!

We even installed shelves above the door when you walk in! If there was an inch of space, we used it!

Next I have BIG plans for our office closet! I am so excited about this! I will post the BEFORE picture here! We will be tackling this project next week! Check back to see how it turns out! :)

Also, I found a new great blog I wanted to share with you all!
She is starting her own store on Etsy is and giving away a super cute cake stand on her blog this week!
Take a minute to check out her website and look at all her cute stuff! It's a lot of fun!

Your messy closet cracks me up! It looks wonderful now and has so much storage space! I feel your excitement for organization. I have loved being off for the summer and getting everything organized the way I would love for it to be all year long. Have a wonderful weekend!
