What a fun Saturday! I met my dear friend Kathy, (whom I swear could be my sister) for lunch! We used to teach together and I have not seen her since before school started! I can't believe it has been that long. I wish that you all could meet Kathy. If you spent only 5 minutes with her you would walk away loving life more, smiling more and certainly laughing more. She is an amazing friend and I am so blessed to have her in my life.
We tried a new restaurant called Los Cucos. It was fantastic!! I was so excited that they had homemade wheat tortillas! I will definitely be going there again. We enjoyed delicious mexican food without any guilt! We ordered healthy and delicious meals and the service was very impressive. Here is a picture of us at the restaurant!
From there I headed over to Old Navy to look for something.
As soon as I parked I saw HUGE signs in the window like this...

I could not contain my excitement as I rushed into the store! You see, a few weeks ago I saw the most beautiful jacket ever at Old Navy! I just LOVED it! But then, I looked at the price tag...$89.50!! NO WAY! By the time I paid tax it would be close to $100! I remember hanging it back up on the rack with such sadness and walking away.
BUT NOW, it was going to be on SALE! As soon as I went into the store I saw them hanging there, 50% OFF! I frantically searched for my size...how sad, it was not there. :(
We called a few other stores and found it down the road! But before I left to go get it, I had to take a look around. I found this jacket for Kevin that was also on sale from $69.50 TO $34.50, so of course I got it for him! When I checked out they gave me a 10% coupon to use on my next purchase! I was ecstatic because now that meant that I could get my jacket for 50% off, plus use my 10% discount! :) Here is Kevin's new jacket...

I drove about 10 minutes down the road to another Old Navy and got my jacket! What a bargain it was! It came out to about $40!
(FYI- the sale changed today. They are still on sale, but it's not 50% off anymore)
This will be my birthday present, so I can't wear it until December 11th. I JUST LOVE the color!

By this time it was late afternoon and I wanted to make one more stop at Hobby Lobby to look a their Christmas Trees since they were on sale. We have to get a new Christmas Tree this year since this will be our first year in our new home. Our previous Christmas trees (we have 2) are either way too wide, or way too short for our Christmas Tree spot in this house.
I bought a tree at Hobby Lobby that I thought would fit, however when getting it home we discovered that it too was going to be way too wide at the bottom.
I searched and searched the internet for stores that sold 9 foot tall Christmas trees that were slim at the bottom. I looked everywhere and could not find one that would work.
Once Kevin got home we headed over to Kathy & Jay's again! It was their daughter's 13th birthday party and they were hanging out with friends and family! We had a great time eating a few special treats we have not had in weeks, playing ping pong and visiting.
By 11:00 we decided it was time to go. BUT, before we went home we decided to stop off at the best place to find a Christmas tree EVER...

That's right we went to Garden Ridge Pottery at 11:00 p.m. It was fabulous because we were the only people shopping in the store. There were at least 30 Christmas Trees to choose from and they were all ON SALE!!! I was so excited, I just knew we would find one that would work and we did! It is 9 feet tall and only 34 inches wide at the bottom! We carried the HUGE box to the checkout lanes, bought it and stuffed it into Kevin's car and finally made it home just before midnight!
Now I CAN'T WAIT until we can put up the Christmas tree. I am SO excited!
