A huge ice storm blew through and today we woke up to a winter wonderland with ice instead of snow! It is apparently being called "Icemagedon". While we had planned on hitting I-35 to head to Austin for the an early family Christmas, it appears mother nature had other plans for us. While I am many milestones behind in blogging, I decided to just post this today and I'll still be playing catch up on the other stuff!
We LOVE cold weather around here and Claire seems to be right on cue with that! Throughout the day she was telling us what her plans were for sledding, hot cocoa by the fire, playing in the snow ice! She is quite the little "northerner"!
Here is our day in review! It was a full day...lots of fun, lots of playing, and lots of cooking!
We started the morning with a bang- scrambled eggs, bacon and Christmas shaped pancakes, with chocolate chips as ornaments!
Claire was pretty much in heaven by 8:00am! Yes, we have candles burning at breakfast! It's our new thing. Every meal Claire loves to "make it fancy"!
Then it was time to go test out the ice!
It was so pretty.
Our house basically became an igloo...it is entirely frozen!
Claire loved collecting icicles!
The bushes were frozen!
Back inside there was more fun to be had! We were all very HAPPY to have Daddy home with us today!
He is a pretty popular guy around here! Pretty much has a celebrity status...he's never left alone, he's followed around everywhere, no time to himself...what can I say? We really love him!
Clark kept us all laughing while he wildly danced and got super excited about the singing and dancing Christmas tree that Nana & Opa gave us last year! It is truly a sight to see...precious!
Claire and I worked on a foam gingerbread house with a little help from Daddy while I had to feed Clark! It was so fun and turned out super cute!
She's such a big girl these days. Sometimes I just look at her and say, "Yup, she's 2 going on 12."
That's my girl...totally a "Claire face".
She is loving her own little snow village in her room this year...all picked out by her of course!
She bought the family of snowmen and gingerbread house with her own gifted money from her piggy bank. Let's just say this girl loves her some Hobby Lobby!
These days since she is suddenly a big girl she goes to her room to play. It's so weird. Suddenly I will notice she isn't playing in the living room and it's really quiet and there she is, just using her imagination and playing with her fairies.
Clark didn't want to miss the view! I stood him up and let him lean on the couch and he did it, for the first time! Sweet baby boy is growing up too!
This afternoon we got creative and found a way to help Claire get all the way down the driveway on her laundry basket sled by pushing it with Kevin's remote controlled truck! This my friend it what you call "Hillbilly Sleddin'" She had a blast! It was hilarious to watch! What a fun daddy C & C have!
Then Clark woke up and we didn't want to leave him out of the fun so we headed out the backyard! He was not too sure about being all bundled up or sledding but big sister held him tight!
One of my favorites...pretty much sums it all up...
Let's do it again!
Whhheeeeeee!!! They loved it and so did we!
We are worn out!
