Claire at 14 Months

Dear Claire,

You are about 14 1/2 months old.  I wasn't sure if I would continue monthly updates after your first birthday and I was still undecided when the 13 month mark came around, but now I have decided that I miss taking this time to document how we spend our days, what you are learning and what you are up to.  So, here I am again :)

At 14 months you are just so much fun!  You are very busy and into everything from the moment you wake up until you go to sleep at night!  You love looking in the pantry and pulling everything out and off the shelves.  I try to keep the door shut, but if I forget for even a second you go right in!

You are such a solid sleeper now!  It is wonderful. You sleep 12 hours straight 7pm-7am!  Your bedtime routine is dinner at 6:00, bath at 6:30, then Daddy reads you a book, cuddles with you and puts you down to sleep in your crib.  You go right down without ever crying.  You take one nap a day at 1:00 until about 2:30.  

You eat 3 meals a day at 8, noon and 6 with 2 big snacks and other small snacks throughout the day.
You LOVE meatloaf, peas, pears, blueberries, mac-n-cheese, oranges and bananas!

When you sit in your high chair you cross you feet just like this!  So cute!

Your favorite toys are your baby dolls and books.  You love to pick up your dolls and give them hugs, feed them pretend food and water and push them in the doll stroller.  You just adore Bindi and love to make a seat between her paws!

You LOVE to be outside.  You will go find your shoes and bring them to me saying, "sheeewssss, sheeeewssss, sheeeeewssss!" in hopes that I will put on your shoes and take you outside.  Your favorite thing to do is just walk around and carry things and explore outside.  You want to know how everything works.

With the nice weather, your Daddy got out his remote control truck and you thought it was sooooo much fun!

You are saying Mama, Dada, Nana, shoes (sheeeewsssss), more (mah), all done (all yun), ball (ba), baby (bb), book (buh), cracker (ca-caa), hot, bow and you make a clicking sound with your mouth when you are thirsty and want something to drink.

Here you are playing with your toy camera from Nana & Opa in your own little chair!  I think it's too funny that you have known how to use a toy camera for months.  You hold it up to your eye and look around with it like you are taking pictures and then you laugh and smile...it is soooo funny!

As busy as you are, you still stop to give us love and it is so sweet.  It melts our hearts when you hug us, kiss us and tap our arms with your hands.  Sometimes you will come running toward us with your arms wide open and fall into us giving us the biggest hug ever!

We love you so very much Claire.  You are such a big girl these days.  

Watching you learning and grow is the most joyful experience of our lives.
