The Nightmare Continues...

So you might remember a couple years ago we had a leak in our french doors of our master bedroom.

See those posts here-
and here

Well...long story short-the job was not done correctly and we are still dealing with it today.  We hired a company to come investigate our home for mold- they confirmed our suspicions.  We sent the report to our home builder--they sent out their own company to test and again--confirmed our suspicions.  This was a couple of weeks ago.  Since then it feels like our house has been turned upside down...it is a disaster and oh did I mention that on top of that somehow someone stole our credit card info and charged things like concert tickets and flights!  What a disaster to fix!  I have to have all our accounts changed and I have no time to do it!

Back to the subject at hand...Monday morning they arrived bright and early to begin the job of tearing out all the carpet in our bedroom.
Thank goodness my parents are here in town for a little while for my dad's job.  Claire and I spent the day at their hotel since we had to be out of the house.  I also had to bring the dog, and the pack-n-play and soooo much more!  I felt like I was going for a week- but it was only 8 hours.
After being gone all day I was exhausted and ready to get home.  It was HOT and HUMID.  Claire was HUNGRY.  I had a car load full of cold groceries.
This is what I walked into...

What you can't tell from the pictures is that this machine was so loud it sounded like a jet in our living room.  It was unbelievable.  There was no way this was safe for a baby's ears.  I have had to keep her in the guest room and her bedroom.  We are so crowded that I have to keep her playmat in the hallway...it is ridiculous to have to live in a hallway b/c there is no room in your house!

I noticed that the tape sealing our bedroom door shut-"THE CONTAINMENT ZONE"  was broken and air was escaping into the house.

In the heat and humidity, with a screaming baby in the car and a dog ready to get in along with cold groceries melting I found myself stuck outside of my own house frantically calling everyone involved to see if it was safe to enter the house.

Finally I was told it was okay to enter.  I said a prayer and brought my family inside.  Kevin had to move out all of our bedroom furniture by himself earlier that day to prep for the carpet removal.  I feel like a hoarder with stuff everywhere!  I don't know how people can live like this.  It's making me crazy!  This used to be our living room...

This used to be our dining room.  Now it holds our mattress and the wood that it sits on for our slatted bed.  What a disaster for a person who tries to keep everything in it's place!
The current state of our bedroom- post mold removal...
And yes- another machine as loud as a small jet blasting hot air into the room.
This is awesome!  We're being sarcastic here!
So we all moved into our guest bedroom. It's a tight fit for our family of 3 people, 2 cats and a dog!
The worst part (other than the noise) is that our thermostat is in our bedroom and since the BIG, HOT, LOUD AS A JET machines had to RUN FOR 3 DAYS it totally messed up the temperature in the house.  Every hour or so we would wake up b/c it was either 78 degrees or 60 degrees.  Poor little Claire!  Her angel care monitor kept going off alerting of us the temperature problems.  We've been miserable and it looks like it's going to be at least another 8 days of dealing with contractors to get it all fixed.  I feel like I'm building a house trying to schedule everything with carpet people, AC people, sheetrock people, etc etc!  It is always something here!

I can't wait to get everything put away and have a clean house again!!!!!
