With the help of my friend Kate, I took my first trip to Babies R Us since finding out we were pregnant! In the past, I have found this store to be quite overwhelming, so I knew that the experience and knowledge of another mom would be helpful, but I had NO IDEA just how much I would appreciate Kate's help!! Since she has a 2 year old and baby #2 due in December she knew just what we needed! She was amazing! We literally walked through every aisle of the store and discussed what everything was, what it was for, what she recommended and whether or not it would be necessary!
We started with the baby bottles! HOLY MOLY! Thank goodness for her help! She has extensive knowledge in this area and knew things I would have never even dreamed of asking! Who knew there could be soooo many different types of bottles with so many different options. I ended up deciding on these and I am super excited about them. Another mom walked by while we were talking about these and raved about how wonderful they are!
Another item I am super excited about is the Pack N Play which has a great pattern that will match our house! In the beginning we plan to have the baby in our room before transitioning to the crib so this will be a perfect place for baby to sleep and change diapers! Then after that, it will continue to serve lots of purposes! What a wonderful product with lots of functionality!
Kate's wisdom came handy yet again when entering the diaper aisle! Again...there were soooo many choices. I have never looked at diapers in my life. She knew just what to point out and what would be important for a newborn! I decided we would start with these!
And an item I think is sooo cute...this baby bathtub! It just looks like so much fun!
Once we find out the gender in September Kevin and I will go back to Babies R Us and complete our registry! I hope to have it all done by the beginning of October! Looking at all the baby things and actually imagining them in our house (rather than as a gift to someone else) made everything feel so real. It was very exciting! I can't describe how much I appreciated Kate's help in what I call the "critical thinking" items of Babies R Us! The rest of the things we have to choose will be lots of fun and easy compared to this first trip!
In other news...last Saturday we hit the 4 month mark!!!! Some say that's half way...but if pregnancy is really 40 weeks, we're not quite half way yet, but we're close!
Baby Viehbeck is growing bigger everyday! At my last appointment everything measured perfectly. We pray that continues! We're so excited and can hardly wait to find out the gender so the rest of the planning can begin!

3 Sweet Thoughts:
You are way too kind, Kelly! I am hardly an expert, but I was more than happy to help! And I'm here if you need anything else in the future too. :)
I know my friends who have kids older than Nora have always been invaluable resources to me, so I am always really happy when I can be the "experienced" mom helping someone else out! And someday soon YOU will be the experienced one that a friend goes to for help!
Hi honey.
You look beautiful. I had to change my vote to a girl, since that is the way your tummy is looking.
Love ya!!!
Hey we got our dresser and nightstand from JC Penny's kids furniture, and the crib we found on Overstock.com. It's all 'Antique White' but the crib and dresser do have the slightest difference in color. Not enough to notice though. We figured this way she could grow in to her dresser and nightstand and all we'd have to do is get a bed :)
