21 Day Cleanse - Days 3 and 4 Plus Veggie Stew Recipe



We're just checking in at the end of Day 4 of our 21 Day Cleanse!  I'll admit, today was rough for me!  I actually gagged on my salad because I am just getting tired of it and ended up not finishing it and being hungry all afternoon, and you really shouldn't ever be hungry on this cleanse, so I guess I need to mix things up a little bit!  Dinner was my saving grace today...it was sooooo good!  We made veggie stew last night and had leftovers again tonight!  I am sharing the recipe in case anyone wants it.  Right now we can eat as many veggies as we want, fruit- but only in our shakes and 1/2 cup brown rice a day, but on Day 11 we get to add meat back in!  I am soooo excited about that!  Just the thought of some grilled chicken on my salad makes me so happy I could do cartwheels!

Also, one of my friends asked me what an SP Shake is.  It is the Standard Process Shake that is one of the main parts of the Standard Process 21 Day Purification Program or Cleanse that we are doing.  

Day Three
Breakfast- SP Shake
AM Snack- SP Shake if needed
Lunch- Salad with Homemade Rosemary Vinaigrette Dressing and 1/2 avocado
PM- Snack- SP Shake
Dinner- Veggie Stew Over Brown Rice

I felt like I was in the kitchen forever on Sunday washing and chopping so we could have salads made ahead of time for Monday-Wednesday!  As much as I may have complained while doing it, it was the only way we could keep up with this!  Kev grabbed a jar on his way out the door and I was able to eat quickly while taking care of Claire, so it was worth it in the end.

For Dinner we made the veggie stew!

Here is the recipe...

Ingredients
2-4 tablespoons olive oil
6 cloves garlic - use garlic press
1 large onion - diced
1 zucchini- diced
1 yellow squash - diced
1 red bell pepper - diced
handful of baby carrots - sliced
1 can organic stewed tomatoes
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
1 bay leaf
sea salt and pepper to taste
brown rice made separately

Directions
Sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil.  Add remaining fresh veggies along with oregano, basil and bay leaf and sauté for about 5-8 additional minutes, stir often.  Add can of stewed tomatoes and chop up tomatoes if needed.  Simmer for 1 hour covered.  Serve over brown rice. Enjoy!

Detox  Symptoms:
Kelly- tired, moody
Kevin- tired, achy, skin rash as toxins exit skin- now his skin is SUPER silky!



Day Three
Breakfast- SP Shake
AM Snack- SP Shake if needed
Lunch- Salad with Homemade Rosemary Vinaigrette Dressing and 1/2 avocado
PM- Snack- SP Shake
Dinner- Leftover Veggie Stew Over Brown Rice

I am dying to talk to you about this. I might have to try it out. I'm almost starving on my gluten/dairy free diet and I don't know how you are doing this!! I know I really need to detox with all of the skin issues me and the kids have.
