Claire got an A+ for her first airplane trip! She did awesome! She was asleep by the time we took off and woke up happy as could be for the rest of the flight! We lucked out that there was an empty seat on the plane and she got to have her car seat next to us free of charge!
When we landed in Hartford, Connecticut there was a lego version of Mark Twain's house!
It's amazing how much there is to carry when traveling with a baby! This was just our carry-ons and gate check items! We hadn't even gotten the checked luggage yet!
Arriving at the Ivory Creek B&B in Hadley, Massachusetts. We stayed here the night before Claire's surgery.
Beautiful tall trees lined the private driveway into the home.
We stayed in the Delft Room.
Beautiful big windows overlooked the towering trees.
And another beautiful window...
Fresh fruit was waiting for us when we went downstairs for breakfast!
I've decided I would MUCH rather stay at a B&B than a a hotel!
While we waited for breakfast to finish cooking we stepped out on the back porch and saw this! Can you imagine this in your backyard?!?
Breakfast is served...oven baked french toast with whipped cream, chicken sausage and the famous Hadley Asparagus!
Enjoying the view one last time after breakfast! Notice that it's June and Claire is wearing pants! It was in the high 50's low 60's!
Bye-Bye Massachusetts...we're on our way to Claire's surgery bright and early!
Welcome to New York...
Claire's surgery was at Dr. Kotlow's office in Albany, NY
Claire slept after her surgery for the entire 2.5 hour drive up the mountains to the next B&B where we stayed for Claire's recovery.
Welcome to Albergo Allegria B&B in Windham, NY
We stayed in the Carriage House behind the main house so we wouldn't bother anyone if Claire was crying.
We had hot chocolate with breakfast...in JUNE!
The cereal bar...
Frittata and sausage...
Homemade wheat belgium waffle!
Our room- the Lavender Thyme Room
We kept the windows open as much as possible. It felt incredible!
This is the backyard behind the B&B! Love all those trees!
My first NY deli sandwich from Todaro's!
I loved this deli!
We ate in the car...we were always on the go! I can't believe how much we did is such a short period of time!
Next we were off to the home of Orange County Choppers! We have watched this show for years and Kevin couldn't believe it was filmed so close to where he grew up in NY!
Some of the motorcycles that were on display in the showroom...
If you watch the show, then you might be able to see that this is Rick doing some welding. We took this photo from the "viewing room". We did see the camera crew there filming for the show so that was exciting! When we arrived we saw Rick coming back from lunch on his chopper!
Leaving OCC and heading to Paul Jr's place!!!!
Too bad PJD doesn't have a showroom :( But we did see Vinny coming back from lunch and he waved at us! That was pretty cool!
From there we went to visit Kevin's childhood neighborhoods! What a cool experience for him to revisit these special places and relive those childhood memories.
This is the basketball court he and his friends played at.
The field he played baseball on!
Go Fishkill Little League!
The view when driving through his childhood neighborhood! WOW!
Kevin and Claire in an old neighbor's front yard! Look at all that grass and those tall trees! Gorgeous!
32 Maurerbrook Lane! Kevin's childhood home!
This was his other home in Stormville, NY.
His elementary school! What a cute historic school house from the early 1900's! They still hold classes in it today!
His middle school!
What a beautiful building!
They don't build middle schools like this anymore.
We had dinner at Kevin's favorite deli! He used eat here with his friends after T-ball games!
The best turkey-club I have EVER had!
They even gave us free ice cream when they found out Kevin came here as a kid!
I shot this pic driving down the highway! Even the interstate was lined with trees! Such a far cry from our drive down I-35 here in Dallas!
After a long day of being in the car we pulled over at this little overlook area to take a look at the view.
Absolutely gorgeous!
The sun setting behind the Catskills!
Back at the B&B for our last night.
We are so grateful Claire's surgery went well and it was such a special experience to see where Kevin grew up! We loved our time up north and will always treasure those nice cool temps in the middle of June! It is truly beautiful up there!
