Bow Board, Pink Paints, Diaper Box, Pie & Sneak Peak!

Wow- there are lots of updates today!  Last week I posted this photo asking what you thought it might be for...

Those of you that guessed something about bows are right!! However, my plan did change.  Originally I was planning to use all the ribbons and fabric above to make a very colorful bow board to organize all of Claire's bows on...but then my sweet husband suggested that I go to the vintage fabric store in downtown McKinney and see if I could find something that would match her room!  So of course I didn't pass up an opportunity to do that!  It was so much fun!  I just wish I could have had more time in that store!

I ended up finding some perfect fabric for Claire's room and went back to Hobby Lobby to get more ribbons to match!  YAY for their 50% of ribbon sale!
So here is everything I used for the project...
...and this is how it came out!
I just LOVE it!  You can't tell in the picture but when it hangs on the wall it will hang from a pink satin ribbon!!

Don't worry about all that colored ribbon I didn't get to use for this project...I am saving it to make hair bows for Claire---I don't know when I will find the time to do that, but I am so excited about it.  It sounds like soooo much FUN!

We also worked on choosing the paint color for the walls...
Let me just say that PINK has got to be one of the MOST difficult colors to choose!  There are soooo many different pinks coming from different colors!
4 trips to the paint store and 8 samples later Claire's walls were beginning to look like a quilt!
The flash made all the pinks look different than they do in person, so I am not telling which one we chose!  You'll have to wait until it's all done!  We finally found a gentle, soft pink that was exactly what we were going for!

Because I am LOVING this opportunity to be crafty I worked on another little project for Claire's room!  I found this little pink and white canvas storage bin on clearance at Michael's and thought it would be perfect for storing diapers and changing stuff next to the changing pad!
But of course, it could use a little ribbon trim, right!?!?!?!
And why stop there when you can add one more layer!!! I LOVE ribbon, in case you didn't notice!
TA-DA!!  It's all done!  I will try to post a better photo another time!  I love it!!

We also went to a Halloween Party and had to bring a Spooky Dessert!  We had fun making this Chocolate Graveyard Pie!

And last but not least...we have ONE piece of Claire's furniture...the rest is coming in a couple weeks!  Here is a sneak peak of her little nightstand with a few special items on it!  Most of these items have a story behind them, but I will save that for when the room is complete!  For now I'm having fun looking at this corner and imagining what the rest of the room will be like with painted walls, furniture, curtains and bedding!

That's all for now!  Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Check back soon for pics of my rockin' costume this year!  It's sure to give you a good laugh!!!
