Valentine's Day, Bath Time for Bindi, Kevin's Mom Visits, a GUILTY Pleasure and Planning a Baby Shower!!

I know that it has been far too long since I have updated the blog...but we have just been sooo busy!  Valentine's Day was already a week ago, but it sure was wonderful.  For the first time ever, we went out for dinner rather than cooking at home!  It was so much fun!  We had a 7:30 reservation at Brio Tuscan Grille in the Watters Creek Shopping Center in Allen!  AMAZING!!  Oh my goodness...it was soooooo good!

We ordered the Pasta Fra Diavolo which is a penne pasta tossed with a spicy tomato cream sauce with green onions and chicken.  It was INCREDIBLE!  Just when I thought it couldn't get any better...then came dessert!

Oh man,  I can't even describe how delicious this was!  You will have to go and order it to experience it yourself!  It is the  Torta Di Cioccolata- a rich chocolate cake with a warm center topped with Vanilla Bean Gelato and chocolate syrup! YUM!!

In other news we FINALLY found a groomer for Bindi!  We have been looking for over a year!

When we picked her up this is what they gave us! Kevin couldn't believe it when I told him I was putting this on the blog, but as a teacher I just have to!  I am so proud of her first report card!  It looks like she got all A's! We are proud puppy parents!

This weekend we were so excited to have Kevin's mom come and stay with us!  Oh, how I wish we had taken more pictures!  We were having such a great time we forgot to pull out the camera!  We went out to eat, drove around town, went shopping and even looked at some model homes just for fun!  We did get one picture of Kevin's mom and I sitting in a HUGE chair.

Our time with her was WONDERFUL!  We sure do miss our family and we always treasure the time that we get to spend with them!  Thank you for coming to visit us Marcie!  We love you and we had a fabulous time!

Okay, now...onto the guilty pleasure that you have all been waiting for.  This is how it all began...last night Kevin had a 103.3 degree fever!  His mom and I were doing everything we could think of to help lower his fever and one of our last ideas was to get him some ice cream.  He requested Ben & Jerry's!  We made a late night run to Wal-Mart to get him some and of course...I didn't want him to have to eat it all alone so in an effort to be a supportive wife I thought I would join in and have some ice cream too! hahahaha!

Well, I have discovered a new "favorite thing"!  Wow,  I can't believe I am posting two desserts in one post, but I just HAVE TO tell y'all about this!   Have you ever tried this?

Holy Moly, where has this been all my life?  Thank goodness I found you! haha
But really, if you like ice cream, then this is for you!  That is my guilty pleasure.  The good news is that it did bring Kevin's fever down, but he is not out the of the woods yet.  He tested negative for flu and strep, but whatever he has is nasty and I really hope he gets over it soon!

I have also been busy getting ready for a baby shower I am hosting for my friend Laura in March.  I have been working on printing the invitations at home- which has been much more complicated than I ever thought it would be, but it is totally worth it because they are turning out soooo cute!  Here is a sneak peak of part of the invites!  I am so excited for the shower!  I can't wait!

Tomorrow I am recommitting to my healthy lifestyle, so say goodbye to these yummy posts!  Of course, I am sure they will reappear again sometime...they always do!
