WOW, we have been going non-stop ever since I wrote my last post. I can not believe how much we packed into one week! I will try to briefly catch you up on everything starting from last weekend.
--LAST SATURDAY AND SUNDAY--
Kevin and I decorated the outside of the house for Christmas time! We have been having never ending trouble with light bulbs burning out this season, so Kevin decided we would go for the LED icicle lights! They are supposed to last "forever" and use VERY LITTLE electricity! So, I guess you could say that we are going "green" with our outdoor Christmas decorations! :)
Last Sunday my dear friend Kathy invited a few of our friends from my first grade team at my last school to come over to her house to catch up and enjoy an afternoon of ping pong, BBQ, laughter and great memories! Here I am with some of the nicest ladies I have ever met. All of these women are amazing teachers, wonderful moms and true friends! I am so blessed to have their friendship and support in my life! Kathy & Jay- thank you for opening your home to all of us and our families! Jay- you're cooking was awesome (of course) and we all had such a fun time!
--MONDAY--
Monday was the beginning of the work week and was also the first day of my 2 week window for my annual observation by my principal. With the holidays just around the corner I could not wait for it to be over with! It is a really big deal and any teacher can tell you that having a 2 week window (rather than just 1 week or even a scheduled time) is very stressful!
Also, this day we found out that a dentist was very interested in the office space that we are SO excited about. I was trying not to stress about that and was reminding myself that everything happens for a reason and we will be where we are meant to be.
Also, I had a very important doctor appointment scheduled for this day. I have not talked much about my "health concern" and will have to save a lot of the details for another post, but basically I got really good news and I think everything is going to be okay! I attribute it all to prayer and our vegan diet! More details to come in a future post!
--TUESDAY--
Tuesday I came home to find that Kevin was cleaning out the garage. He took 4 car loads to drop off at donation centers and built 2 storage cabinets and hung countless hooks! I was so happy...but he was not done and needed help! It was LITERALLY FREEZING outside and we did not finish the garage until after 9:00 p.m. Did I mention it was sleeting outside! Bbbrrrrr! Sorry I don't have any pictures...no time!
--WEDNESDAY--
All of the first grade parents came to school to see their children sing and sign Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. We taught them how to sing it in sign language. It was so precious! Look at their cute red noses! I was so proud of them. They did a fabulous job!
--THURSDAY--
Thursday was my 25th Birthday and started off with a bang as I discovered that our cat peed in our dog bed AGAIN! (This has been happening ever since we went to Tennessee! It's just lovely.) But, after that the day did improve because FINALLY my principal came for my observation! I think it went pretty good! I will know what she thinks when I get my results...probably in January.
My kids were super sweet and my room mom even surprised our class with cookies at the end of the day!
That night Kevin gave me my green jacket that I have been waiting for, baked me a special birthday treat and we went out to a wonderful dinner at PF Changs at the Watters Creek Shopping Center in Allen!
We LOVE the Watter's Creek Shopping Center! It was decorated so nice for the holidays! Here are some pictures!
On my birthday we found out that the D.O. buying the office space that we would like to lease a part of is willing to hold the space for us until DECEMBER 26TH when Kevin gets his board exam results!!!! What a relief! Once we get his scores, she wants a contract signed ASAP so things are going to start moving pretty quickly from that point! Please pray that everything continues to work out. This feels so right and would be so amazing if it all comes together the way we are hoping!!!!
--FRIDAY--
I took Friday off work so we could travel to Austin to celebrate an early Christmas with Kevin's extended family from the Galveston area.
We stayed at the Lakeway Inn! We had a great room with a balcony overlooking the lake! Once again, we were really missing Austin! My parents took care of Bindi while we stayed there and we slept in until 8:30 both days! I could not believe it! We have not slept in that late in over 2 years! Our pets always have a way of waking us up on the weekends. I think of it as preparation for kids...but it sure did feel good to finally sleep in! THANK YOU MOM AND DAD!
The view from our balcony.
Very modern room...we loved it!

--SATURDAY AND SUNDAY--
We spent the weekend visiting with Kevin's family! We had such a great time! Lots of DELICIOUS food, cookie decorating, playing Guitar Hero, giving gifts and so much more!
Here is Kevin's Granny making the family's recipe for homemade tortillas! They are incredible! Thank you Granny! :)
I had a great time decorating cookies with the kids! YUMMY!
Kevin's entire family can cook like nothing else! I wish they would all get together and open a restaurant! I think that there was someone cooking something in the kitchen at all times the entire weekend! Here are some of the cooks cooking in the kitchen!
Of course, there were lots of presents for the kids! They had a great time opening, sharing and playing with their toys!
We are totally exhausted, but this was a wonderful week! Only 5 more teaching days until Christmas Break! WOO-HOO!!!!!!!
