We made it!

Well, we survived!  The first day of school is always exhausting and to be quite honest, miserable for teachers!  We have to eat lunch while standing on cafeteria duty and opening sticky pre-packaged lunches and we usually don't get a second to go to the bathroom until about 3:30 in the afternoon!  

I must say, this day went MUCH better than I thought it would.    If we can keep things going like they did today though, it should be a good year! They seem like a really great bunch of kids and I am very excited! :)

I have some really cute kids and some really smart kids that make me smile and of course the kids that already have my head spinning with ideas of ways to help them focus better and stay on task.

This is my year for classroom management!  I was telling Kevin that three years ago some things wouldn't have bothered me, two years ago I would have let them slide, one year ago I would have been too nice, but this year I am ready to lay down the law!  Trust me, I am not being mean, but I have learned that if we are going to make it all the way until June then we have to start off on the right foot, and I think we did!  We'll see how I feel about that by the time Friday rolls around! :)
