Catching Up - Clark's 1st Birthday April 6

Back when we were planning Clark's birthday we had NO IDEA that we would be listing our house 1 week after his party…in fact we didn't even know that the day of his party.  3 days after his party I was planning to sit down and edit pics and blog and BAM, our builder informed us our move in date was 4 weeks sooner than expected.  Sooooo, we went into full on house selling mode, then packing mode, then moving mode and then the never ending unpacking mode…it's been quite an ordeal!

Finally 3 months after moving in the new house I am getting caught up on our memories!

Soooo, it was fitting for Clark's first birthday to be a construction party since we were basically building a home from the day he was born (we signed the contract while I was in labor with him) and then moved in when he was 13 months old!

It was so much fun planning his party and a huge thanks to everyone who helped make it all come together!  Here are more pics than you could ever imagine to document the special day!

The Birthday Boy!  Happy Birthday sweet baby boy!

The antique high chair that was used by my dad, me, Claire and now Clark!

All of the little party goers got to be "construction workers" at the party.

The big kids were put to work using "hammers and nails"!

Big sister Claire in her "party shoes"

The lighting of the candle was such an ordeal.  Unlike his sister…he went RIGHT for it!

Here I am pulling the candle out of his mouth and we haven't even lit it yet…this was probably our cue to just skip the candle...

This is the look of fear on my face as I realize we just almost burned off our 1 year olds fingers!!  WHEW!!!  That did not go as expected.
He wasn't too thrilled at this point.
But he quickly made up for it and enjoyed eating his cake!

A huge thanks to my BFF Kris for getting Clark his "Very Important Cupcake"  Gluten and dairy free and absolutely fresh and delicious!

Claire and her BFF Landry having fun at the dollhouse!

Clark partying on the floor with is little friend Cade!  These little guys just enjoyed watching the action.

Sweet Caden hard at work getting ready to paint her bird house!
Lita and Clarky!
Nana and Clarky!
Clark tries to take Kris' hat, but he didn't want to wear his own!!
Clark goes for a ride on his new birthday toy from Nana and Opa!
We are so thankful for all the friends and family who shared in this special day and came to celebrate with our family!  Typing this six months after it happened makes me realize just how fast time flies!  He looks SO MUCH bigger now!  So happy we had this day together to cherish these memories!!
