Best Day Yet-catching up and Claire's visit to the chiro!

Well, I haven't been blogging much because poor Claire has been having such a rough time.  She has not been a happy baby.  We often say that if she is not eating or sleeping then she is screaming or screaming louder!  It sure has taken a toll on the whole family.  We are wiped out.
See- even Claire is yawning...(LOL)

Her doctor diagnosed her with reflux and gave us a prescription for that.  We saw little to no improvement.  Despite the exhaustion and frustration, I have been determined to find out what is causing this unhappiness.  I truly believe that there has to be a reason for her to be so unhappy.  We rarely have a moment where she is just quiet or content or even close to happy.  It is so bad that I can not shower or cook or do anything.  Her cries are so strong and unconsolable it is heartbreaking!

We started by reading lots and lots of books!  Here are the books from what I now refer to as "Claire's Book Club".

Next I eliminated all dairy from my diet suspecting that it could be a possible dairy allergy from my breast milk causing her stomach to be upset.  That didn't seem to do the trick either.

We went back to the doctor and he said that as far as he could tell she is healthy...just a high maintenance baby.  That wasn't comforting...I knew there must be more.
My intuition tells me that her cries are there for a reason and she is trying to tell me something.  If only she could just tell me!

Kevin has been keeping her spine aligned, but he suggested that we see a pediatric chiropractor who works specifically with babies and children to see if she could find anything else going on.  So we went to the chiropractor and that has been our best experience yet!  She adjusted her and after doing some muscle testing confirmed that her stomach is bothering her and suggested that I take chicken and wheat out of my diet since Claire tested weak on those as possible food allergies.  While it is difficult to remove wheat and chicken, it is way more difficult to see my baby so miserable.
Here Dr. Amelie is explaining how she can tell if Claire is out of alignment.

After two visits last week and 3 days wheat and chicken free-today for the first time we are experiencing what it is like to spend a day with Claire when she is not screaming, spitting, scratching and angry all day!  It has been AMAZING!  Yes there have been tears and crying, but nothing like before!  We are truly amazed!  We hope and pray this continues.

Kelly, I am so glad that the pediatric chiro is helping and I never would have thought about taking wheat and chicken out of your diet but I am so glad that it is helping. After Hannah's first 4 months of life, I thought I would NEVER have a happy baby. I could not believe how much she cried and as you know, it is just heartbreaking! But, I will give you hope, each month WILL get better and she will be come that happy baby/toddler very soon. Hang in there, new mommyhood is tough!
